The QinetiQ North America Tison is a heavy EOD unmanned ground vehicle unveiled at AUSA 2016, based on the company's proven Talon platform architecture but scaled up for heavier manipulation tasks. It is an Interoperability Profile-compliant tracked system equipped with a nine-degrees-of-freedom robotic arm capable of lifting 50 kg at a 2-metre extension. The Tison's heavy-lift arm gives EOD teams the capability to move and manipulate large improvised explosive devices, vehicle-borne IEDs, and other heavy
suspicious items at safe standoff distance, extending the task envelope beyond what lighter EOD robots can safely handle.
