BAE Systems unveiled its Robotics Technology Demonstrator (RTD) at the AUSA exhibition in 2019. Designed to meet the requirements of the US Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) programme for a new family of UGVs, it is a modular, scalable platform that can be equipped with a range of weapon systems, sensors and specialised equipment. Expected to form the basis of BAE Systems’ proposal for the RCV-Heavy component of the RCV programme, the RTD has been demonstrated to the US Army and will be used to experiment with
the integration of emerging technologies in the fields of autonomy, lethality and sensing.
