The Planck Shearwater is a quadcopter UAS designed to launch from and recover to moving platforms — ships, vehicles, or other mobile bases — using onboard navigation software that enables autonomous precision take-off and landing without a dedicated pilot or extensive installed hardware on the host platform. The moving-platform capability addresses one of the key operational limitations of conventional UAS in maritime and mobile ground applications, allowing the Shearwater to be deployed from vessels underway
without the need for deck crews or specialised launch and recovery systems.
