The bomb is ﬁtted with a mechanicaltime fuze. The standard propelling charge setconsists of a primary cartridge and 6 equalcharge increments. The round has a range in excess of 7km. The 120mm M533A1 has been safety certiﬁed by the US Army in 1999.</p><h2>MISSION</h2><p>The 120mm illuminating bomb is designed foruse in 120mm smooth bore towed mortars.The round is used to produce illumination of  a speciﬁc point or area of operations.</p>
