Armament 60 and 81 mm HE and 81 mm TP or WP smoke bombs. Development By US Army Ordnance. Description The head of the fuze contains a spring-loaded striker, direct-acting firing pin, and a clockwork mechanism to delay arming for a safe distance from the muzzle of the mortar. The head is threaded into an aluminium body containing a cylindrical slider to position the detonator, and a booster lead charge. Positive safety is provided by a safety pin to be removed just before firing. Note: the M525A1 is for training
