Description A cylindrical bomb with a conical section at the rear, to which the welded steel fin unit is attached. The bomb contains a parachute and flare assembly that is ejected after approximately 15 seconds of flight by the action of a fixed time fuze screwed into the nose of the bomb. An expelling charge directly below
the fuze ejects the illuminant and parachute assembly. The flare assembly consists of a first-fire charge and illuminant charge and is contained in a boxboard casing that is attached to the parachute with a suspension line. Firing this bomb below Charge 2 will result in dud rounds. Manufacturer US government contractors.
