The IDF’s new Dolphin-class SSKs are entering service to replace the Israeli Navy’s existing Gal-class SSKs that were built in the 1970s. The class is divided into two batches, Dolphin 1 and Dolphin 2, and is subsidised by the German government and built by the German shipyard ThyssenKrupp Marine
Systems.
