The Fateh-class submarine is the first indigenously developed and built submarine in service with the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN). Built at Bostanu shipyard, the submarine was commissioned in February 2019 and is the first in the semi-heavy submarine category, sitting between Iran’s light Ghadir-class and its heavy Kilo-class submarines and is capable of launching torpedoes and anti-ship
missiles.
