The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) has ordered a second batch of three additional Type 209/1400 SSKs from South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering. This was intended to bring the total number of submarines operated by the Indonesian Navy to eight, but following the sinking of KRI Nanggala in April 2021, the Nagapasa class will be accompa-nied by just one smaller Type 209/1300 submarine KRI Cakra while a replacement programme remains
undecided.
