Manufactured by the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Combat Air Teaming System (CATS) Warrior is a medium-altitude long-endurance UAS that is part of the CATS family of systems. Devised to operate as a ‘Loyal Wingman’ to a crewed Tejas LCA or Jaguar fighter aircraft, the CATS Warrior will be powered by HAL’s PTAE-7 engine and can host several payloads, from an EO/IR gimbal, MBDA’s ASRAAM short-range air-to-air missiles and the CATS ALFA-S. The platform is expected to be adopted by the Indian Air
Force and Navy. Its maiden flight is scheduled to be conducted in 2024 or 2025.
