The Loire class is made up of Offshore Support and Assistance Multipurpose Vessels in service with the French Navy. The ships were designed and built by the French company Kership. The vessel is designed to conduct a wide range of support missions, primarily long-lasting operations in the EEZ waters. Four of the versatile vessels were ordered for the French Navy in September 2015, with the first ship commissioned in July 2018. The French Navy changed the designation of the vessel in 2019 to Metropolitan Offshore
Support and Assistance Vessel.
