Twelve new Mine Countermeasures Vessels (MCMV) are being built to replace the ageing tripartite-class MCMVs, which are due to retire from service in 2023. The programme is a joint Dutch-Belgian procurement. It was awarded to Belgium Naval Robotics (BNR), a French-led consortium comprising Naval Group and ECA Group. BNR will build the 12 new vessels beginning in 2019. Six vessels each will go to Belgium and the Netherlands, with the first ship expected to be delivered in
2024.
