The Turkish Coast Guard has 18 Kaan 20-class fast intervention craft in service. The first prototype underwent trials in 2006. It is fitted with two 12.7mm machine guns; however, according to the company, it can be fitted with other modules such as a short-range missile system, stabilised turret or multi-sensor surveillance suite. It has a composite hull designed to reduce signature, weight and maintenance
costs.
