The Luyang III class, more commonly known as the Type 052D destroyer or Kunming class, in the service of China’s PLAN, is a follow-on design from the earlier Type 052C destroyer. These form the bulk of the PLAN’s modern destroyer fleet alongside the new Type 055 Renhai class.
