The Avante 2200 corvettes from Spanish shipbuilder Navantia are currently under construction for Saudi Arabia. A contract was signed for five corvettes to all be delivered by 2022 in July 2018. They will be specially adapted to the requirements of the Royal Saudi Navy. The Avante 2200 corvette is a multirole vessel designed for surveillance and maritime control, SAR and providing assistance to other
