The UVZ’s CRI Burevestnik subsidiary manufactures the 2B24 82mm smoothbore, muzzle-loading mortar. Capable of firing a range of Russian 82mm mortar ammunition, including HE, smoke, illumination, and leaflet bombs, this mortar offers enhanced features compared to the 2B14-1 82mm mortar currently in use by the Russian Army. With a crew of five, the 2B24 is separated into three loads—barrel, baseplate, and bipod and sight—for easier carriage. It boasts a higher rate of fire, extended range, and improved portability.
Assembly and readiness for action can be achieved within 30 seconds. The 2B24 is adaptable for mounting on various wheeled and tracked chassis.
