The Spike LR2 (NT-S) is Rafael’s fifth generation of the Spike missile and is backwards-compatible with existing Spike launchers. Two warheads have been developed: a tandem HEAT warhead, which enhances armour penetration by more than 30%, and a new multipurpose blast warhead, which can be programmed by the gunner for impact or penetration detonation fusing. The first deliveries of the missile were expected to take place by Q4
2018.
