Norinco began marketing the crew-served LG5 semi-automatic grenade launcher (GL) in 2014 in parallel with the shoulder-fired LG5s ‘high-precision’ GL. The LG5 system combines the LG5s launcher with a tripod, an OS14 day sight and a 15-round drum magazine. Developed for export, the LG5 fires Norinco BGJ540x53mm HEDP sniper grenades and standard 40x53mm high-velocity grenades produced by other manufacturers. Mounting the LG5 on a tripod more than doubles the effective range of the
weapon.
