The K3 5.56mm light machine gun was developed to replace the 7.62mm M60 in service with Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) infantry squads. The K3 has been in ROKA service since 1991 and has been bought by Bangladesh, Colombia, Fiji, Guatemala, Indonesia and the Philippine Army which has acquired 6,540 weapons since 2008. The K3 can be fed from 200-round belts or 20/30-round
magazines.
