The 7.62mm LM8 Modular Weapon System was developed to offer a more compact and lighter alternative to Lewis Machine and Tool Company's 7.62mm LM308MWS, while still preserving the latter's superior accuracy and long-range stopping power. The firearm features the company's Monolithic Rail Platform, crafted from a single aluminum forging, which includes a quad MIL-STD-1913 rail system. Various barrel options, ranging from 13.5 inches to 20 inches, are available to accommodate specific ammunition requirements. The
LM8MWS comes equipped with a SOPMOD buttstock featuring a six-position extension tube.
