The Fort-12, available in two calibres, was one of a series of weapons developed by Fort to replace Soviet-era small arms in service with Ukrainian forces. It has been in military and police service since 1998. The Fort-12 can be equipped with a sound suppressor, laser designator or tactical light. The pistol has a heavy metal construction to increase longevity and retain stability in operation. The Fort-12R and Fort-12RM models fire non-lethal rubber
bullets.
