Glock released the G19X in 2017 as the company's first crossover pistol, combining the full-size G17 frame with the compact G19 slide to create a platform suited to military holster systems while retaining the reduced slide length of the G19. The design originated from Glock's entry into the US Army Modular Handgun System competition. The G19X is chambered for 9x19mm, ships with both a 17-round and a 19-round magazine, and features a coyote-tan PVD-coated slide and frame, a lanyard loop, and the Glock Marksman
