The 45cal M45A1 Close Quarter Battle Pistol (CQBP) is the newest variant of the M1911 adapted to meet changing requirements of military customers. In July 2012, following a competitive selection process, the USMC awarded the company a five-year contract to supply up to 12,000 CQBPs to replace the 9mm pistols then in service. The M45A1 features a bottom MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail for tactical light and laser accessories and a Series 80 firing pin
