An evolution of the OH-6 Cayuse light observation helicopter, the MD 530F was initially Federal Aviation Administration- certified in July 1985 as the Model 369FF. It is a scout attack heli-copter engineered to operate effectively in hot-and-high environments. Its high-altitude lift capability is achieved by main rotor blades that are 15cm longer compared to the MD 500E. Its tail boom is extended 20cm, and the tail rotor blades have been lengthened to provide increased thrust and directional control at high
altitudes.
