The South Korean government selected Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) in July 2014 to develop the Light Armed Helicopter (LAH) and the related Light Civil Helicopter (LCH). KAI and Airbus Helicopters signed an agreement to jointly develop the types in March 2015. KAI is to develop the LAH/LCH based on the Airbus Helicopters H155. The platform is powered by the Safran Arriel 2L2
engine.
