The IA-73 is a basic training aircraft being developed by FAdeA. The project was launched in September 2010 using the company’s own funds, and four Union of South American Nations countries – Argentina (50 aircraft), Brazil, Ecuador (18) and Venezuela (24) – committed funds to meet their needs for new aircraft. Brazil has yet to finalise its requirement, and in 2016, Argentina began an upgrade of its T-34 trainers, which would push any IA-73 purchase further
out.
