The E-2 Hawkeye AEW&C aircraft has gone through several iterations and can be operated from land, as with Egypt and Mexico, or from a carrier, as with the USN and France. In October 2014, it was announced that the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft reached IOC with the USN. In December of that same year, Northrop Grumman successfully completed the first flight of its E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft equipped with aerial refuelling
equipment.
