The Husky Mk III vehicle-mounted mine detector (VMMD) was developed by Critical Solutions International in partnership with DCD Protected Mobility. It is the latest version of the mine clearance system, previously known as Chubby, developed by DCD in the 1970s for the South African Defence Force to clear routes of mines in Angola and Namibia. The system consists of two Husky platforms, a mine detection vehicle and a towing/mine detection
vehicle.
