The ZBD-03 (initially referred to as the ZLC2000) is an air-droppable tracked infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) designed to support airborne assault operations. Although it shares many design elements with the Soviet BMD-1 and BMD-2 IFV, its powerpack has been relocated to the front and the hull has been raised to provide more internal volume within the troop compartment. Since being publicly unveiled during a 2009 military parade, the ZBD-03 has been produced in unknown numbers to equip Chinese airborne units and
has also been offered for export under the designation VN10.
