The Piranha V, the latest member of General Dynamics European Land System’s (GDELS) Piranha family of wheeled armoured fighting vehicles, introduced a vehicle in the upper weight class. Unveiled in mid-2010, the Piranha V offers improvements in the areas of survivability, mobility and firepower. It can be configured as an infantry fighting vehicle or armoured personnel carrier, as well as for specialist roles such as EW, ambulance, reconnaissance, command, mortar and direct fire with turrets of up to 120mm
calibre.
