FNSS is developing the Pars IV 8x8 to compete in the Turkish Army's New Generation Wheeled Armoured Vehicle programme, offering increased protection and mobility over the Pars III 8x8. The heavier design features a more powerful engine, hydropneumatic suspension for improved cross-country performance, all-wheel steering, and greater resistance to both ballistic and blast threats.
