The Amazon is a 4x4 multipurpose armoured vehicle that leverages technology from the larger BMC Kirpi series of mine-resistant vehicles. Smaller and lighter than the Kirpi, the Amazon is more manoeuvrable than its predecessor and better suited to operating within the narrow streets typical of urban areas. However, its V-shaped hull still provides a high degree of blast protection. Up to seven personnel and an RWS can be accommodated in the standard APC version. Additional mission equipment can also be installed to
enable it to fulfil more specialised roles such as ambulance, command post or reconnaissance vehicle.
