The Cloud Shadow UAV was developed by Aviation Industry Corporation of China’s Chengdu Aerospace Corporation for long-range reconnaissance and strike missions. The jet-powered aircraft, which was unveiled at the Zhuhai Airshow in November 2016, has a configuration similar to the Wing Loong’s V-tail and the thrust of the WJ-600 jet-powered UAV. The Cloud Shadow will be available in two variants: a pure reconnaissance platform and an armed version for reconnaissance strike
missions.
