Norinco developed the 4x4 VN3 reconnaissance vehicle for both the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and for the export market. Development was completed in 2007 and the vehicle entered production in 2013 for the PLA, although neither the PLA nor Norinco will confirm how many have been ordered. A small number of vehicles have also been exported to Belarus (where it is known as the Drakon (Dragon)) and
Tajikistan.
