The Anaconda was developed by Dutch Military Vehicles (DMV) in response to a Royal Netherlands Marine Corps (RNMC) tender released in May 2018 for a new light tactical vehicle that could assist with patrols and disaster relief missions. It is based upon a modified Iveco Daily commercial truck chassis that has been converted to four-wheel drive and fitted with a new open-topped body capable of accommodating four personnel, cargo and machine guns. A total of 46 of these vehicles were ordered in July 2018 and delivered
to the Dutch Antilles in early 2019.
