The Ripsaw M5 has been developed to meet the requirements of the US Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) programme for a family of new UGVs. Based upon the Howe and Howe Ripsaw tracked platform and incorporating several subsystems designed by FLIR, it is a modular design that can mount different turrets, sensors and specialised equipment, as well as act as a mother ship to smaller UGVs or small UAVs. Textron plans to enter the Ripsaw M5 into the RCV-Light and RCV-Medium components of the RCV
programme.
