Dragon Runner was originally developed for the USMC by the US Naval Research Laboratory, Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute and Automatika. QinetiQ further developed Dragon Runner to produce a modular, small UGV, which can be reconfigured in the field. There are now two versions: Dragon Runner 10 (DR10) and the slightly larger Dragon Runner 20 (DR20). The DR20 was unveiled under the name Dragon Runner in 2008 but was redesignated when the DR10 was released in

2011.
