Unveiled in October 2009, the Rex is a large 4x4 logistics and support unmanned ground vehicle designed to autonomously accompany infantry units of three to ten soldiers, carrying equipment and supplies without the need for a dedicated operator. The platform follows its assigned unit using leader-follower autonomy, adapting its path to the terrain and pace of the accompanied force. The Rex reduces the physical load carried by individual soldiers and eliminates the need for dedicated logistics personnel at the
squad level, improving infantry endurance and operational reach during dismounted operations in complex terrain.
