RBS2 SWAT-Bot

Region
United States
Category
Unmanned platforms
The Robotic Ballistic Shield 2, also known as the SWAT-Bot, was developed in coordination with the Massachusetts State Police as a law enforcement tool for protecting officers advancing on armed suspects. It combines the RS1 unmanned ground vehicle with a collapsible ballistic shield and a hardened AR400 steel nose shield to provide mobile cover in active shooter and hostage scenarios. The RS1's mobility allows the SWAT-Bot to advance, stop, and manoeuvre under operator control, enabling officers behind it to
approach a threat at a protected standoff rather than exposing themselves to direct fire.
