The Tianjin Aurora UAV 5A-03 is a large heavy-fuel rotary-wing reconnaissance platform powered by a double turboshaft engine and fitted with a three-blade main rotor with a diameter of 3.4 metres. The design is a scaled-up development of the company's 5A-01 platform, retaining the same basic architecture while significantly increasing payload capacity and endurance. The heavy-fuel powerplant allows the 5A-03 to operate from military logistics infrastructure that stocks JP-8 or equivalent fuels, simplifying forward
deployment compared to platforms reliant on aviation gasoline or dedicated electric power sources.
