Skydio manufactures the X2D UAS. It provides a reconnaissance capability due to its dual-sensor payload that includes both a 12mp colour and FLIR Boson 320x256 longwave IR sensor. In addition, the UAS features six 4k cameras, which enable obstacle avoidance and, when blended with the 12mp camera’s image, create a 360° live view with up to 100x zoom and electronic image stabilisation. In February 2021, it was reported that the platform had been downselected in the U.S. Army’s SRR programme. Skydio announced on 4
May 2021 that the platform had completed its development and was now in production and available to order.
