DESCRIPTION The sub-caliber adapter M1076 is a sub-calibersystem used for gun crew training. It consists of a Training Device comprising a 7.62mm rifledbarrel in a mount having the shape of a 106mmHESH round. 7.62 rounds are loaded in theAdapter to be fired from the 106mm rifle out to the combat range of full bore rounds. The subcaliber adapter is loaded
into the rifle chamber and is fired using the main rifle firing mechanism. Requiring minimum routine maintenance, it provides a complete and inexpensive training system.
