DESCRIPTION The round consists of a tubular steel bomb bodywith a plastic obturating band, a mechanicaltime fuze, a tail cone and aluminium tailassembly. It is loaded with the illuminatingflare/parachute assembly and a black powderexpelling charge. The tail assembly contains the ignition cartridge and “horseshoe” type increment charges. The M712-2 has 2 increments for use in M19 type mortars. The M712-4 has 4 increments for use in M224 type mortars. MISSION For use with low and high pressure 60mmmortars (M19, M224
