<p>PACKAGING</p><h2>MISSION</h2><p>This Mortar Bomb is an Illuminating rounddeveloped to be used in the L16 Mortar Systems,or equivalent and is used for illuminating adesired area. The 81mm illuminating MortarBomb is in service in the Armed Forces ofdifferent countries e.g. UK Army, and remains at the forefront of operational requirements.  The burn time gives troops ample opportunity  to illuminate and spot hostile forces.</p><h2>DESCRIPTION</h2><p>The round consists of a tubular steel body  and tail cone with a plastic obturating band,  a mechanical time fuze and an aluminium tail assembly. It contains an expelling charge (blackpowder), the illuminating canister and parachute. The tail assembly is ﬁtted with the ignitionprimer and the propellant increments.</p>
