<p>PACKAGING</p><h2>MISSION</h2><p>The 120mm infrared-illuminating bomb isdesigned for use in 120mm smooth bore NEMOand other high pressure mortars. The round isused to produce illumination of a speciﬁc pointor area of operations in the near infrared foruse of night vision goggles.</p><h2>DESCRIPTION</h2><p>The bomb consists of a two-piece projectile.The forward part houses the IR-illuminatingpayload, while the parachute is lodged in therear section. The bomb is ﬁtted with a timefuze. The standard propelling charge set consists of a primary cartridge, 6 equal charge incrementsand a 7th supplementary charge. The round has  a range in excess of 9km. The infrared illuminatingcomposition is visible in the IR spectrum from 0.7 to 1.2 microns with a minimal signature in thevisible spectrum. The pyrotechnic composition is REACH compliant.</p>
