Based upon the USAF BQM-167A aerial target, the UTAP-22 Mako is a ‘Loyal Wingman’ UAV that is manufactured by Kratos Unmanned Systems. In December 2020, Kratos was awarded a $37 million contract in the Skyborg programme to produce a missioned UAV prototype. On 29 April 2021, the Mako was used in the USAF’s first Skyborg flight.
