Armament Standard 60 mm mortars Development By Military Institute for Weapon and Ammunition Technology (VTUVM) for use by the Czech military and for export Description The Mk 98 constitutes a family of 60 mm mortar bombs, including high explosive fragmentation (HEF), high explosive incendiary (HEI) and white phosphorus (WP) smoke varieties. There are also three types of training rounds. All are typical teardrop- shaped bombs similar in appearance to the M49A2. There are no separate charges; the bomb is launched by
a shotgun-type propulsion cartridge. Only data for the HEF version were available for this edition of JAH.
