20 × 80RB

Region
Brazil
Category
Ammunition, Missiles and precision weapons
The brass cartridge case is of the familiar Oerlikon rebated rim pattern, percussion primed. It is similar to, but shorter than, the more common 20 × 110RB case. Wartime projectiles included AP shot, solid steel ball, HE, HE-I and Mine HE patterns. Developed by Oerlikon Bührle in the mid-1930s, the FFM gun was used during the Second World War by the German Luftwaffe, and in post-war years by several countries, principally Spain. Some guns appear to be still in use in various South American countries for training
purposes. Compatible platforms include oerlikon FFM and licensed copies.
