Dragonfire is a new laser weapon system built for the UK MoD, receiving £30 million of funding in early 2017. The design of the gun was first unveiled at DSEI 2017 in London. For the development work, MBDA has grouped expertise from Leonardo, QinetiQ, MBDA, Arke, BAE Systems, Marshall and GKN. The development programme is called Laser Directed Energy Weapon Capability Demonstrator
