Kalvari Class P-75 (Scorpene)

Region
India
Category
Marine
India's Kalvari-class, designated Project 75, is a diesel-electric submarine programme aimed at modernising the Indian Navy's underwater fleet with six boats constructed by Mazagon Docks Ltd under licence from a foreign design partner. The programme forms part of a broader strategy to build indigenous submarine production capacity. The Kalvari class is to be followed by the more ambitious Project 75I, which will add a further six submarines with air-independent propulsion, extending India's undersea endurance and
strategic reach.
